THE RIVER SPEAKS

Once in a while, she just had to run away from the world.
When her thoughts started to turn from fluttering butterflies to stinging hornets
and her eyes from stars to pebbles,
She knew it was time to grab her knapsack with books and leave.
Mostly, she fled to the forest. The forest with her golden wind and green scents.
With humming robins and rustling leaves.
But above all, with her soothing, comforting peace.
That was all she ever needed.
Until she met him.
Ever since that moment,
whenever she had to run away form the world,
she laid her head down on his chest and listened to his heart beat.
